All tractor displays must be set up by December 14th and remain up until December 18th. Feel free to keep the displays up for longer. LACS LIVE
The Lowville High School Drama Club invites everyone to come out and enjoy our fall play next week! We’re presenting a comedy called Harvey, by Mary Chase. It won the Pulitzer prize for drama in 1945 and has been very popular and successful ever since. You may be familiar with the famous film adaptation starring Jimmy Stewart. The protagonist Elwood P. Dowd is a super friendly guy who has an invisible best friend named Harvey. Elwood doesn’t mind telling people that Harvey is a white rabbit over six feet tall. See, Harvey is a pooka, a creature from Irish mythology. Of course, anyone who can’t see Harvey thinks Elwood is crazy… which is why Elwood’s sister Veta tries to have him committed to an asylum for mental healthcare. Veta sounds rather crazy herself when she rants about Elwood to a doctor at the asylum, and the doctor mistakenly checks Veta in as a patient and lets Elwood go…. The play will keep you laughing, smiling, and guessing as to whether Harvey the pooka is a figment of Elwood’s imagination or as real as the rest of us… Performances are Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are sold at the door – adults $5, students $3. The cast has done an amazing job with their quirky characters and their hilarious group dynamic. You don't want to miss this one!
