Adult Education Offerings

The fall semester of Adult Education programs began on Monday, September 23. The courses are designed to meet the academic and recreational interests of our community in an ADULTS ONLY setting. Registration for classes may be done simply by showing up for the class. We invite you to come out, learn, recreate and meet new people as well as experience some of our facilities. If you have a special talent or skill you would like to share or a class you would like to see offered, please call the school at 315-376-9015.

AM Lap Swim: Monday-Friday (6:00 - 7:00 a.m.)

Supervised lap swimming for improving stroke technique and cardio-vascular fitness. A lifeguard will be on duty. Starts: Monday, September 16. Instructor: Mrs. Kathie Egloff

Open Fitness Room: Monday-Thursday (6:15-7:45 p.m.)

Our expansive room of state-of-the-art fitness equipment, weights, equipment and exercise bikes will be open to the public in an adults-only setting. We hope to have enough interest to keep the facility open for the entire academic year. A school supervisor will be on hand to assist and orient you to the facility’s equipment. Instructors: Mr. Joe Widrick, Mr. Jim Kingsley and Mr. Jonah Stacy. Starts: Monday, September 23.

Adult Recreational Volleyball: Typically Tuesday night, but subject to weekly fluctuation. (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.)

For individuals interested in playing volleyball with other adults. We hope to have two full courts in action. Instructor, Kyle Zehr (kzehr@lowvilleacademy.org) will provide a schedule. Starts Tuesday, September 24in the lower gym.

Family Swim: Wednesday (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.)

program runs every Wednesday and each child must be accompanied by an adult. Starts: September 25. Lifeguard: Kathie Egloff

Early dismissal and school closings will automatically cancel adult programs that day.

Fort Drum School Support Services

School Support Services (SSS) provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources and information necessary to achieve academic success. A branch of Child and Youth Services (CYS), SSS is home to the School Support Services, where the School Liaison Officer (SLO) helps deliver the best educational resources and information for your children.

We specialize in education transitions, and make sure incoming and exiting Families have information about local schools, graduation requirements, after-school services/programs, youth sponsorship programs and home schooling. We also help parents better understand the education process, school organization and interaction strategies.
How the SLO can help:Build relationships and facilitate communication among Army Families and the local school community
Inform and assist parents with school transitions and deployment challenges
Establish school and community partnerships
Facilitate access to home school resources for parents
Provide information about college and other post-secondary opportunities and preparation materials
