Good Evening! This is a reminder to all lowville Academy high school students that we will begin our live in-person orientations starting on Tuesday, September 8th for grade 9 students, Wednesday, September 9th for grade 10 students, Thursday, September 10th for grade 11 students and Friday, September 11th for grade 12 students. Each day will begin school at 8:35 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m and is only for the grade level mentioned above. The day will include meeting with each class for 40 minutes along with time allotted for required COVID training before beginning school class instruction on Monday, September 14th. The Lowville Academy hybrid model has students in grades 9 and 11 attending school for live instruction on Mondays and Tuesdays, and students in grade 10 and 12 attending live instruction on Thursdays and Fridays. The days students are not in school, students will follow their schedules remotely online through remote instruction with their teachers. Attendance for remote learning is mandatory for all students as new material will be introduced to ensure we provide a full year of curriculum instruction. (BOCES students will be attending live in-school instruction 5-days week both at the high school and at the BOCES Center.) We look forward to new school year full of hope and challenges in pursuit of academic excellence. Yours in Education, Brian Finn

Updates from LACS: *Students in grades 6-12 need to pick up their Chromebooks at your building between the hours of 8 and 4 any day today, or next week to retrieve it. All students in grades 6-12 should have their Chromebook in their hands prior to the beginning of the school year as the year for them technically starts remotely. *Check out our video to highlight some change to procedures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSaehPu2xRo&feature=youtu.be *Third, if your child has any chronic conditions, including allergies, migraine, asthma, etc. please have your doctor send in a note to the health office. The district wants to be sure that a common symptom of a condition that can be explained is not mistaken for a COVID-19 symptom. This will help keep our students healthy and keep your child in school! *Also, if you have any medication that needs to be dropped off at the health office, the health office will be open on September 1, and September 2 between 8 and 4 for drop offs. If you need to schedule a different time, call the health office for an appointment. * Students are not allowed in the building until 8:15 am. At that time, students will be allowed to enter only their own building main doors. *Elementary and high school students who ride the bus will enter through the Trinity doors. All other students must only enter through their own building. *Dismissal will be staggered to reduce the crowds in any one place. Students who walk or get picked up in grades K and 1 will dismiss at 2:50pm, in Grades 2-5 will dismiss at 2:55pm, and grades in 6-12 will dismiss at 3:00pm. All students who ride the bus will be dismissed by bus starting at 3:00. As we begin our first few days together, I want to thank all of our Lowville Academy and Central School District family for your flexibility and patience. Many things change, and sometimes without much notice. We always have the health and safety of your children as a first priority and we know that when we partner with our families it has the greatest benefit for them. Enjoy your last few days of summer vacation and we’ll see you all soon.
